Natalie Delgado

Natalie Delgado has spent the majority of her life observing the natural world and the mutable relationships within it. Graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with an emphasis in Biological Sciences and Art, Delgado inherently studies, analyzes, and reflects upon the natural surroundings she immerses herself in. Previous works produced realistically rendered females placed in isolated or ambiguous environments, in an effort to expose a sense of vulnerability, isolation, or abandonment. Now, her work has progressively evolved and shifted toward a focus on the environment itself. The wildlife, terrain, and deserted architecture seeded throughout the Mojave Desert that she calls home, all parse the complexities of the natural world and the various relationships within it. It is these complex intricacies and interactions that Natalie is most interested in exploring.

She primarily makes paintings, composed from oil, colored pencil, and acrylic, and has recently delved into the world of ceramics and glass. She is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and works as a drawing and painting instructor at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts.
